I spend most of the god-darned day surfing the internet. While chatting to mates might provide some light entertainment (my mates are no fun), it's about time that I escaped the desk that inhabits most of my day. It's time to enjoy a great day out and get out into the waves.

Surf up a storm and try something new with Achill Surf and Kayak, Mayo:

• €9 for surfing or kayaking lesson for one person, normally €20.
• €17 for surfing or kayaking lesson for two people, normally €40.
• €24 for surfing or kayaking lesson for three people, normally €60.
• €32 for surfing or kayaking lesson for four people, normally €80.
• €38 for surfing or kayaking lesson for five people, normally €100.
• €49 for surfing or kayaking lesson for eight people, normally €160.

Or €7 per person for a board/boat and wetsuit hire including 10-minute land lesson, normally €15.

Whether you’re young or old, experienced or not – you’ll have some great fun in the water at Achill Surf School.

You won't need to worry about a think as the surfing school will provide wetsuits, surf boards and refreshments (tea, coffee and juice) – all you have to bring is a packed lunch.

The lessons take place at 10.15am and 2.15pm, seven days a week (until 31st of August and weekends in September).

Perhaps the notion of a lesson are beyond you, well then why not go for the board/boat amd wet suit hire. This even includes a ten-minute introduction land lesson but after that you're free to do what you please. It'll be up to you to surf the waves yourself after that.

Lessons are available for individuals and groups from 10 years upwards.
