Up on the top tier you'll find the pièce de résistance of any Afternoon Tea - delicious pastries, cakes and homemade scones with jam and fresh cream .
And Afternoon Tea wouldn't be complete without a pot of Irish tea or freshly brewed coffee to savour as well. Why not add some bubbles to the occasion? For just €10 per person you can enjoy a half bottle of Persecco Frizante (payable on the day and must mention when booking).
Adding to the decadence of it all are your surroundings - tea is served in the Ambassador Hotel's stylish and comfortable bistro.
Weekends are the busiest time for afternoon tea so if you have your heart set on one of those days book well in advance for a chance of securing a sitting.
Afternoon tea is, appropriately enough, served every afternoon from 2.30 to 5pm, so make some time for yourself and a friend and enjoy a truly relaxing afternoon.
"Had a lovely afternoon with my sister and our 2 babies at this hotel. The staff were very friendly and we felt very looked after. I highly recommend the afternoon tea - we couldn't finish the selection!"

" I had never eaten there until now but I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food on offer for the afternoon tea. If you do decide to go there make sure you don't eat lunch so that you've worked up a good appetite."

"The hotel Christmas decorations set us up for our Afternoon Tea. The three tiered tray of various savory and sweet foods was more than we could eat. We enjoyed a relaxing and completely satisfying few hours of eating, sipping and conversing with excellent service. We plan to come back in 2012."
